The Owner and How it All Started

Dan Feeny is a native of Detroit who grew up in a family owned business.  His father was in the retail auto parts business and the lessons Dan learned from that experience were extremely valuable as he started his own business.  Dan received a business degree from the University of Michigan after which he started his career in the auto industry. He began as a salesman, and then followed that with positions as Finance Director, Sales Manager, and finally General Manager.

In 1986, he found an opportunity to buy his first dealership in the Chicago area.  He and his wife, Teri, packed up their four children and moved from Detroit to Palatine, the site of the first dealership, Arlington Park Dodge.  In keeping with the theme of a family owned business, he was joined by his younger brother and three nephews, and five years later bought a second store in Elgin, Feeny Chrysler Plymouth Jeep Eagle. 

In 1995, as the business grew, we expanded to a brand new building in Palatine to become the new Feeny Dodge. We have been serving the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago for over 20 years.  In May of 2005, we sold our Palatine store, bought the Dodge dealership in Elgin and combined it with our existing Chrysler Jeep store in Elgin to create a new superstore.  Our goal in this expansion has been to better serve all the Chrysler customers in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs and the entire Fox Valley.

Our Long-Term Employees

Having long term employees who know their customers is the key to a successful business.  All of our managers have been with us for 10 years or more, and several for over 20 years! We also have several sales people, service technicians, office staff, and porters that have been with the Feeny Team for over 15 years. It is rare to have such longevity in the auto industry and we believe our long term employees serve as a testament to the kind of business that we run. At least 1/3 of our employees have been with us for more than a decade!

Our sales and service employees strive to create a comfortable environment in which to do business.  They have developed a relationship with long-term customers who know that when they come back to our dealership they will see a friendly, familiar face.  The confidence of knowing who you are working with puts people at ease while making their car buying or service selections.  Our employees are the reason we have been successful and a perennial winner of Chrysler's Five Star Award for Excellence.

We have enjoyed making this the premier Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership in the Chicagoland area.  Moving Feeny Dodge from Palatine to Elgin combined all three brands into one dealership, which demonstrates our commitment to better serving our customers in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs and the entire Fox Valley.
